There are many types of high chairs available on the market today. There are several important factors to keep in mind when choosing a new highchair for your little one.

• Child safety. Look for a high chair that has staps designed to go between the legs as well as around the waist. This is probably the most important thing to look for, as many children are injured while not properly restrained in their highchair. (Children should ALWAYS be strapped into a high chair!) Also, look for a chair with a wide base for stability.
• Ease of use. Look for a high chair that will be easy to clean and maintain. The straps should be simple to fasten and unfasten, as should the tray. Hint: Look for a tray you can take off one-handed! The tray should have a "lip" to catch some of the spills and splatters.
• Looks. Whether you are looking for a classic wooden high chair or a modern plastic one, there is sure to be a model that you like. Just make sure the highchair is safe and practical!
